Dr Laura Pohlan

Dr Laura Pohlan studied economics at the University of Mannheim from 2008 to 2013. From 2013 to 2020 she worked as a researcher in the research department „Labour Markets and Human Resources” at ZEW – Leibniz Centre for European Economic Research in Mannheim. Laura Pohlan has been a researcher at IAB’s Research Department „Labour Market Processes and Institutions” since November 2017 and at ZEW’s Research Group „Market Design” since August 2020. In July 2018, she completed her PhD with her thesis entitled „Essays on Unemployment, Job Search Behavior and Policy Interventions” at the University of Mannheim. In her research, she is particularly interested in the empirical analysis of search and hiring processes and the role of frictions in the labour market, with a special focus on the labour market integration of the long-term unemployed.
