John Forth is a Senior Lecturer in Human Resource Management at Cass Business School and Fellow at the National Institute of Economic and Social Research. His work focuses on the organisation of firms and its implications for employee well-being and productivity. He has particular interests in the economic returns to human resource management practices, the impact of employment regulation and how firms’ choices of HR policies affect labour market inequality.
His research has been published in a range of international journals, including The Economic Journal, the British Journal of Industrial Relations, Human Relations, Industrial Relations, Labour Economics, and the Human Resource Management Journal, and has been covered by all of the major media outlets including The Financial Times, The Guardian, BBC News and Sky News.
Recent funders of his research include the European Commission, the UK Department for Business Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), the Joseph Rowntree Foundation and the Office for Manpower Economics.
