Dr Michael Stops

Dr. Michael Stops holds degrees in Economics and Public Administration. He first studied the theoretical foundations relevant to the tasks of the Federal Employment Agency at the University of Applied Sciences of the Federal Employment Agency in Mannheim. He then worked as an employment placement officer at the Employment Office in Chemnitz. At the Institute for Employment Research (IAB), he held various roles in the departments of Human Resources, Infrastructure and Finance, in research management, and as personal assistant to the Deputy Director.

In parallel, Michael Stops studied Economics and Statistics at the FernUniversität in Hagen. From 2012 to 2015, he completed his PhD in Economics (Dr. rer. pol.) at the University of Regensburg. Since 2013, he has been a researcher in the “Occupations in Transformation” research group at the IAB.
