The dual apprenticeship training is a typical system in the Federal Republic of Germany. Most officially recognised training occupations – currently some 350 – are structured according to the dual system. The initial apprenticeship training takes place at two learning venues: general theoretical subject-related training is provided at a vocational school, and subject-related practical training takes place on-the-job or in a corporate training facility.
