Dr Jonathan Latner is a sociologist and received his doctorate from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2015. From 2014 to 2015, he received a DAAD scholarship to complete his doctoral thesis at Goethe University in Frankfurt. From 2015 to 2023, he held postdoctoral research fellowships at the Bremen International Graduate School of Social Science and the University of Bamberg. There he focused on labour market research and policy in the United States and Europe with a particular interest in temporary work, wage dynamics and inequality. He has published numerous articles in international journals. In 2023, he joined the Institute for Employment Research (IAB) in Nuremberg. He is currently working on a project to evaluate AI methods such as machine learning (e.g. CART) and deep learning algorithms (e.g. GANs) to create synthetic data.
